Part I: Nexus is Complete and Ready to Binge (Plus Free Bonus Books)
Available on Substack, Kindle, and as an Epub book
Nexus is Complete
If you're anything like me, you prefer to take in a complete story arc — whether it's a novel or a season of TV — all at once, rather than week by week.
If so, now is the perfect time to dive into Part I of Implicate Orders. The full story is complete, and now available in three formats:
On Substack, where you can read all eight chapters for free:
On Kindle, where it’s just $0.99 (the lowest Amazon will allow):
Or as an EPUB, downloadable here for free:
(By the way: the epub file can be sent to your kindle account (use this page)

If you’ve been holding off on beginning until there was a complete entry point, this is it — because Part I, Nexus, stands alone as both origin and omen. It’s about 100 pages long, making it the equivalent of a novelette, easily binged in an evening or over a weekend.
Each Part of Implicate Orders tells a complete story with a largely unique set of characters — almost like a season of an anthology series. Some threads will connect across the arcs, and weave a larger arc across all five Parts in doing so, but each Part stands alone as well.

If you’ve been enjoying the series, I’d be very grateful if you’d take a moment to leave a review on Amazon. Early reviews are of massive importance in Amazon’s ecosystem, and even just a few words with a five-star rating make a big difference in helping new readers discover the book.
You can leave a review here:
Thanks for reading, and I hope you continue enjoying things as we head further into the future — deeper into stranger minds and weirder events, and exploring more fully the philosophical terrain outlined in Part I.
Stay tuned: next week I’ll release the first chapter of Part II!
Free Bonus Books
I have two other books available at Amazon, and have made them free for 48 hours: from midnight Pacific time today — Friday, June 6th — til midnight tomorrow, Saturday, June 7th.
The Medium Makes the Society is an extended essay (about 13,000 words) that I originally published as a series on Both/And earlier this year. It’s an historical anaylisis of how the means of communication that dominate a society structure its political orginzation, and serves as a sort of extended preface to Implicate Orders. So if you are enjoying Implicate Orders, check it out:
In addition, way back in 2020 I published a book on physical fitness. While it doesn’t relate in any way to Implicate Orders or my current history writing, it’s a fine book intended to help anyone improve their fitness, regardless of their current fitness level. And why not offer it for free for a couple days? (After all, I’m not doing any of this writing to make money.)
Thanks for the comment, glad you’re enjoying!
This is like a box of chocolates!! I have been so waiting for this. Thank you.
